Sweden Greeters welcome you

Sweden Greeters are volunteers who are passionate about sharing their love for their city with visitors from around the world. A Greeter will welcome you and take you on a 2-4 hours walk in the city free-of-charge, showing you places, neighborhoods, and off-the-beaten-track spots. You will see the city through the eyes of a local while hearing personal stories, anecdotes, cultural aspects, and experience the city in its authenticity. Read more …

Sweden is an oblong country, rich farmland in south and mountains in north. In winter there is snow, and skiing is popular, and summertime is hot and you can go swimming. The country has a long coastline, surrounded by water, with archipelago both at the east and west coast. In total there are 10 million inhabitants, and Stockholm is the capital. Sweden is an old country, with its roots back to the Viking age, and therefore there is a lot of old culture and historical places to visit. All over the country, there is lovely nature, and the right of public access allows everyone to enjoy it.

Lund

Lund was founded by the Danish king Harald Bluetooth in the end of 960th, which makes it the oldest city in Sweden. During the Danish medieval time, Lund was the archbishop papal centre for 500 years. There were 22 churches and four monasteries. The city was part of the Danish kingdom for almost 700 years, and Swedish the last 360 years.

Strängnäs is an inviting city by the lake Mälaren, with wll preserved buildings that survived the big fire ‎‎1871. Since 1120 Strängnäs is a bishopseat. The cathedral and buildings around remind us about ‎different periods of time (ex. the Vikings). The center has many restaurants and different kinds of ‎shopping and a nice harbor. Strängnäs – Eden of Sweden. You can easily come here by train from ‎Stockholm (50 min 80 km).‎
