Brazil Greeters welcome you

Brazil Greeters are volunteers who are passionate about sharing their love for their city with visitors from around the world. A Greeter will welcome you and take you on a 2-4 hours walk in the city free-of-charge, showing you places, neighborhoods, and off-the-beaten-track spots. You will see the city through the eyes of a local while hearing personal stories, anecdotes, cultural aspects, and experience the city in its authenticity.

Brazil is a country of warmth — both in its climate and people. For a tourist interested in connecting with locals and exploring beautiful places, few destinations in the world offer as much variety, color, and genuine friendliness.

Brazilians are famously open, easygoing, and welcoming. You’ll notice that people tend to smile easily, talk freely, and love sharing stories, music, and food. They’re proud of their cities and eager to show visitors around. Although English is not widely spoken outside big cities, but gestures, friendliness, and a few words of Portuguese go a long way.
Traveling through Brazil feels alive — with music (samba, bossa nova, forró), football, street markets, and spontaneous laughter. Even in big cities, there’s a laid-back rhythm and a sense that life happens outdoors.

Rio

Rio is famous for its scenario places where mountains, rainforest, and ocean meet in one stunning view. Famous for Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain, and the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema.
If you’re drawn to people, you’ll find that Cariocas people born in Rio. In the words of the writer Fernando Sabino: “being a carioca, is a state of mind, a person that fills the city streets with life”. Cariocas are easygoing, spontaneous, and authentic. They enjoy simple things like going to the beach and applauding the beautiful sunset, or dancing and singing samba on bars. Cariocas smile a lot.
