Start a New Greeter Group

It is great that you are interested to start a new Greeter organization in your city or region!
To become a member of the International Greeter Association, the democratic organization and network of Greeters around the world, we will ask you to:

• Agree to the IGA core values
  The IGA core values describe what Greeters around the world stand for. With the final membership application this document has to be accepted formally.
  
• Be a group of Greeters
  A minimum of five Greeters (or three for the start) secures the stability of the local Greeter service.
  In our experience you will have no problems getting a group together. Many of your family, friends, colleagues or neighbors will find the Greeter concept fascinating and therefore be willing to participate.
• Have a dedicated website
  You can build your own dedicated website or use a free presentation on our website.

Your role as a destination manger
Please be aware that managing a Greeter group means not only to conduct walks with guests, but also to manage the incoming requests, to build a community of greeters, to be the point of reference for the IGA and other stakeholders. This is all interesting but it takes time and determination.
