Guangzhou has contradictions; age old traditions clash with a lively modern city that will always excite. There are plenty of attractions to visit but be sure to spare time to walk the city streets; embrace the city culture and excitement. Lose yourself among the bustling market streets or peaceful parks to discover the real Guangzhou.
Wander around the colonial streets of Shamian Island, have a pleasure at the Pearl River and enjoy the pleasing view of Canton Tower or relax and enjoy a walk with a Guangzhou Greeter. These passionate locals are offering custom-made walks that make the personality of Guangzhou freely available beyond the common tourist tracks.

Remember: A Greet means meeting a local resident to walk around town with you as new friends. The first step will be to talk to the Greeter about the details of your personalized tour. It's not about taking part in a standardized tour, but about exploring the city with an expert volunteer .
Maximum six people!
Our core value #2 reads "Greeters welcome individuals and may serve small groups of up to six people."
The reason is that each Greet should be an opportunity to talk to each other and that seems impossible in bigger groups.
Also important: we do not mingle people from different requests but serve only you (and your friends).

It's true: Our Greeters love their city or town and they are proud to share this with guests.
How could you better discover the most interesting spots of a place?
Free service, no tipping
Our core value #3 reads "Meeting a Greeter is free of charge."
We do not follow a "give what you think is ok (but please give)" strategy. Greeters honestly do not like any tipping because what they give comes from their heart not because of any tipping expectation.

Brian and Will were super kind and friendly. They showed me around in Guangzhou and we had some very nice and interesting conversations about both our cultures! It was a great experience! Thanks a lot for organizing this
Ena and Will were two wonderful young Greeters, very welcoming and friendly, and they showed me their amazing city of Guangzhou for a few hours, where modern architecture stands alongside ancient houses and temples.
We shared our two very different cultures and enjoyed a friendly lunch where Will and Ena introduced me to some of the culinary specialties.
We’ve stayed in touch ever since, and I thank them both again.
