Discover Salzburg, the city founded by the Romans on the Salzach River, where Baroque splendor meets Alpine charm—a true magnet for visitors in the heart of Europe! This UNESCO World Heritage Site, known as Mozart’s birthplace, the home of the Salzburg Festival, and the birthplace and setting of The Sound of Music, invites visitors to immerse themselves in a living postcard. Stroll through the narrow alleys and elegant squares of the so-called “Rome of the North” with knowledgeable Greeters. The Getreidegasse, in particular, with its picturesque guild signs, offers a dazzling glimpse into centuries past.
Discover the exquisite floral splendor and cinematic magic of the gardens at Mirabell Palace, complete with a breathtaking view of the majestic Hohensalzburg Fortress. A trip to the authentically preserved princely pleasure garden of Hellbrunn, with its water features, is also well worth it. Given its role during the Nazi era, special historical dramas from that period are sure to be discussed during an Inside Walk.

Remember: A Greet means meeting a local resident to walk around town with you as new friends. The first step will be to talk to the Greeter about the details of your personalized tour. It's not about taking part in a standardized tour, but about exploring the city with an expert volunteer .
Maximum six people!
Our core value #2 reads "Greeters welcome individuals and may serve small groups of up to six people."
The reason is that each Greet should be an opportunity to talk to each other and that seems impossible in bigger groups.
Also important: we do not mingle people from different requests but serve only you (and your friends).

It's true: Our Greeters love their city or town and they are proud to share this with guests.
How could you better discover the most interesting spots of a place?
Free service, no tipping
Our core value #3 reads "Meeting a Greeter is free of charge."
We do not follow a "give what you think is ok (but please give)" strategy. Greeters honestly do not like any tipping because what they give comes from their heart not because of any tipping expectation.

Die interessante Greeter-Führung mit Michael war sehr informativ. Die Buchung verlief völlig unkompliziert, und die gesamte Initiative ist eine wunderbare Idee. Ich wünsche Michael weiterhin viel Erfolg und viele begeisterte Teilnehmer!
Der Greet mit Thomas war prima! Die Tour hat für uns gut gepasst.
Weg von den Tourihotspots und doch vieles über Salzburg erfahren. Für uns macht es einen großen Unterschied, ob man eine Stadtführung mit Knopf im Ohr und einem Fähnchen hinterher jagend oder eben so persönlich wie bei einem Greet erleben darf.
Die Tour mit Thomas hat unsere Erwartungen voll erfüllt. Ausserdem war er sehr offen und herzlich! Einfach prima. Die Restaurantempfehlung war sehr gut!
