Ferrara was for centuries the capital of the Duchy of Ferrara, Modena and Reggio. Rich in monuments and works of art, the city is a UNESCO site as a Renaissance City. On foot or by bicycle you can see the Este Castle, the Cathedral, the Ducal Palace and get lost in the narrow streets of the Jewish Ghetto in search of the remains of its history from the time of the dukes to the present day. In addition to the historic centre, Ferrara offers a unique historical monument, a city wall that surrounds the city for approximately 11 km and can be explored on foot or by bicycle, completing the knowledge of the city over the centuries. Finally, you cannot leave Ferrara without tasting the pumpkin cappellacci, the salama da sugo, the tenerina… and taking home not only the cultural memory.
Ferrara Greeters are volunteers who give guests an authentic insight into life of their city. They are not city guides. The meetings focus on the dialog between guests and greeters. All, guests can expect the kind of walk you would take with friends, a conversation at eye level about cities where guests and greeters live.

Zur Erinnerung: Ein Greet bedeutet, dass Du einen Einheimischen triffst, der mit Dir als neuer Freund durch die Stadt geht. Der erste Schritt besteht darin, mit dem Greeter über die Einzelheiten Eurer persönlichen Tour zu sprechen. Es geht nicht um die Teilnahme an einer standardisierten Tour, sondern darum, die Stadt mit einem erfahrenen Freiwilligen zu erkunden.
