I stepped on the wooden stairs inside the tower and ascended step by step, the sun shining on my face at the top of the tower and the wind blowing my hair. Looking down on the whole Chang’an, I couldn’t help but think of Du Fu’s majestic words of praise, “The high standard spans the sky, and the gale is endless”.
