We’d be happy to show you around BOLOGNA, our medieval gem that is best known for its old University, mouthwatering cuisine (if you want to experience the joys of good food then Bologna is the place to be), and welcoming atmosphere. Founded in 1589 as a fortress, Volgograd (then Tsaritsyn) gradually grew into an important river-port. Stalingrad (renamed in 1925) was a fast growing urban centre when the World War II began. One of the longest and deadliest battles in the history of the warfare raged here in 1942-1943. Quickly rebuilt and revived after the war, it became vibrant again. Now Volgograd is the capital of the region with 1 million residents. It offers many visitor attractions including the famous Mamayev Kurgan.

In July 2005, the UNESCO organisation gave Le Havre centre, rebuilt by Auguste Perret, the World Heritage status. Lund was founded by the Danish king Harald Bluetooth in the end of 960th or beginning of 970th, which makes it the oldest city in Sweden. During the Danish medieval time, Lund was the archbishop papal center for 500 years. There were 22 churches and four monasteries. The Paris Greeters are volunteer ambassadors, they have the desire to show their city to visitors from all over the world. They offer them free walks around Paris and its surrounding districts. Meetings between local residents and visitors are based upon a shared experience and mutual discovery of one another and their respective cultures. A walk with a greeter is the opportunity to see Paris through the eyes of a local and to discover it away from the beaten track with warmth and enthusiasm.
« Greeters made in Pas-de-Calais » is an initiative of the Pas-de-Calais Tourist Board, based on a concept from New York “Big Apple Greeters”, who offer tourists the opportunity to meet with a local inhabitant who shows him around and speaks to him about “his” neighbourhood, “his” town, about which he is enthusiastic and proud. For the visitor, the meeting with this « friend » is an enriching experience. The « Greeters made in Pas-de-Calais » service is completely free of charge.
