Florence is the birthplace of the Renaissance and it is also one of the most beautiful and vibrant cities in Italy. Between the 14th and 15th centuries there was more beauty created in Florence than any other city in the world. The Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore (the Duomo), the Basilica di Santa Croce (where some of the most famous Florentines are buried), Santa Maria Novella, Santo Spirito and the Basilica di San Lorenzo make up the five largest churches in the center of Florence. Florence will capture your heart and mind and leave an everlasting impression.
