An ensemble of the Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and the early days with more than 3500 monuments – saved from destruction in WW II. Nowhere else in Germany there is a density of seeking well-preserved monuments and character of streets and squares of different eras.
The city that has been divided 1945 at the end of WWII, presents itself as an example of the unification of Europe, living cultural unity and diversity at the same time.
