Calgary is a relatively new city located a short drive away from the mountains. As a result of its location near the Rockies, you can experience all four seasons including snow in the winter. Our architecture is eclectic and broken up by public art and the 8,000 hectares of park land.
Calgary is home to two professional sports teams, the Stampeders (football) and the Calgary Flames (hockey). It is also home to a number of festivals like the Calgary Stampede, a large outdoor rodeo.
And of course we hosted the 1988 Winter Olympics and you can still visit Canada Olympic Park to go zip lining, skiing, bobsledding or the luge. The Bow River which runs through Calgary is one of the top three trout streams in the world.
